MY CLASS DIARY

In this class we begin to focus on the curriculum to get to know it better since it is essential for our future teaching. We were discussing whether the class books follow what the curriculum says or not and how we could change it if it included something that it shouldn't. On the other hand, we were giving our point of view a of the open or closed curriculum. In my case, I think that right now I prefer a closed curriculum because I am still not very familiar with it. We also saw the importance of the preamble in education, as well as its principles, among which are the quality education, the combination of quality and equity and the commitment to the educational targets. To finish, we were also discussing in class what includes quality education such as having good teacher training, reducing the number of students in the classrooms and making it successful at the end. I would agree this class is very important to know the curriculum since it has never been explained to us well.

Hi! In this class we focus on making the work groups for this semester. Afterwards, we saw a video that explains how the first changes in educational system project was designed and we were discussing the changes that have occurred from the 70s to the present, which are few changes as memorization continues to be used in education. You have the video below to have a look if you are interested in. 

In this class we were talking and analyzing the teachings of the Spanish educational system; and we saw how all paths allow students to reach the same place and the things that could be changed, such as avoiding grade repetition in early childhood education students. We were also talking about other opportunities that our degree has, such as being a teacher in senior schools, etc. I consider that this content is essential since many times we do not pay attention to it and no one talked about it to us and as future teachers we must know the educational system of our country.

In this session we finished the presentations of the students who had not been presented the day before. Then the teacher asked us to talk in pairs about moments in which we have to be in silence and she used a power point to give examples. This topic was useful to know that we should respect each other when we speak and to remember when we should be in silence, such as when we are in a state of rage or we do not have verified information about something, etc.

We dedicate this class to getting to know each other a little bit better. First, the teacher Maribel introduced herself and told us about her family, her hobbies, her professional career... Then, she asked us to introduce ourselves one by one, saying our age, where we were from, some of our talents, etc. I really liked this class and I see it as crucial to get to know each other better since we are going to spend a lot of time together and there are even people I have been with since the first year of college who I didn't know much about them.

This first class was a introduction of the subject so this lecture did not last very long. The teacher gave us some information about the things we would be doing during this semester. She also spoke to us about the powerand influence that teachers have in future generations and the important role that the curriculum plays in education.
