20/12 - TEACHING TO YOUNG LEARNERS
Hello! In this lesson, we continued with the classmates' presentations on "Teaching to Young Learners." Regarding Chapter 6, "Reading in English", our classmates presented three activities. For the first cycle, there was a reading involving school materials, and students had to clap according to the syllables of selected words from the material. For the second cycle, they had to organize a story titled "The Dentist and the Crocodile." As for the third cycle, we had to match the texts with a title. As for areas for improvement, I believe all three activities were too challenging for the targeted cycle. Additionally, I would recommend using larger font sizes for the texts.
In Chapter 7, "Story Activities", our classmates' activities were perfectly tailored to each cycle. For the first cycle, they created an activity with three images, and we had to create a story. In the second cycle, there was an activity based on watching a video and drawing the first, second, and third parts. Finally, for the third cycle, they designed an activity where we had to complete a text with missing words.
Moving on to Chapter 8, "Teaching Writing", our classmates conducted excellent activities to enhance the writing skill. In the first cycle, they carried out a slightly challenging activity focusing on expressions like "thank you" or "excuse me." In the second cycle, they created a Padlet where we had to invent a story. Lastly, for the third cycle, we had to describe our perfect dinosaur for other classmates to draw. Here is an example of my dinosaur and those of my classmates. I hope you like it!
